One of the biggest problems I’ve had with virtual cons over the last year is that you don’t get the same sense of community as when you can go in person.
To address this, the Writers of Strange Fiction Con is taking place on Discord, in a lively and active community of speculative fiction writers. You can share feedback, support, and resources year-round with the writerly friends you make.
We’ve set up contests and activities to make the experience more interactive and social. Like the cosplay contest, for which the prize is a custom handcrafted grimoire from Vedagora Craft! I can’t wait to see everyone’s amazing outfits! We also have the Social Butterfly Award, which is given to the person who invites the most people, and the Chatty Cathy Award for the person who is most active in the forums!
And of course, we’ll have virtual parties and mixers so you can meet likeminded weirdo writers!
