Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or “Winter Blues” is a form of clinical depression that has a seasonal pattern. Like all other mental health disorders, SAD impacts the personal, social, and professional lives of people suffering from it. SAD affects up to 3 in 100 people in the UK and 6% of Americans at some point in their lives. But women are up to four times more likely to get SAD than men. There are various ways people can beat SAD. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Light Therapy, Hypnotherapy, nutrition, exercising, getting medical help, and spending time outdoors can help in reducing its symptoms.
