This video is a semi-official release for the “Against the Odds” men’s issues group, tackling the subject of depression, suicide, and my personal reasons for continuing on in my life.
I cover global suicide, male, female, trans and non-binary suicide rates, my personal history with depression, weed smoking, and rather pathetic suicide attempt, and finally play a video from a few years back when I was rambling incoherently during one of my most depressive, miserable phases.
My hope is that sharing my story might encourage others to open up about theirs. My story is a bit lame, and not very intense, and I know others will have much bigger tales to tell (not to mention friends, neighbours and loved ones impacted by this issue).
I hope people will feel like sharing their experiences, particularly…what keeps you going? What drives you on in life?
What prevents YOU from attempting or committing suicide? (if anything…I sure hope so!)
