Hey I’m Brain, and my story is not one that anyone would expect. My parents disowned me for being successful… at least, that’s what they tell me.

I loved school growing up, I always had good grades and loved following the rules. School was something I understood, because I didn’t really understand myself.

I know now that I’m gay, but growing up in a really conservative household made figuring out my sexuality stressful and scary. I know you haven’t guessed it by now, my parents are very homophobic. They don’t understand that it’s not a choice and that I’m not choosing to love men just to get back at them in some weird way. Feeling these feelings I had when I was young was scary, which is why I poured mysefl into my schooling.

I was a straight A student by the time I was in Highschool. I had a lot of friends and life was okay. I always shield away from any kind of talk about dating and you couldn’t pry me out of that closet I was hiding in with the jaws of life. I was completely content in my denial and was sure it was just a phase or something I could hide for the rest of my life.
