‘He’s Body Dysmorphic’ is a gay ‘Mockumentary’ loosely based on a man I knew who suffered all of his life with this illness.
He realised in the end that the problem derived from the pressure we sometimes feel on the gay scene, to look fit; defined; lean and muscular until the day we die.
He felt that aesthetics placed the most important part in a relationship with a gay man. Some of us could beg to differ, but at the end of the day, are we, as gay men, happy and content unless we look good, physically?
