Disney has come a long way in terms of embracing and promoting the LGBTQIA+ community in a positive light. In the form of various movies and TV shows, Disney has included characters that are living their lives on the spectrum. Some of them have come out as gay, such as Cyrus on “Andi Mack,” while others have hinted at their sexuality, such as Terkina from “Tarzan.” We’re going to take a look at some of the characters in Disney films and shows whove unapologetically lived in their truth. This is 10 Gay Characters On Disney Channel And In Disney Movies.

The first Disney character to have a coming out scene is Josh from the series “The Lodge.” When he revealed he wasnt interested in girls, it didnt change the way his character was perceived in the series.

Although Disney usually receives some backlash every time they hint at a character being homosexual, that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to promote inclusion by rewriting LeFou as a gay man in “Beauty and the Beast” and implying that King Candy is gay in the animated movie, “Wreck-It Ralph.” When there were talks that “Frozen 2” was in the works, many moviegoers started a campaign to have Elsa be a part of a same-sex relationship. If Disney agrees, Elsa would have some company with the character Oaken. He was the first “Frozen” character to be in a same-sex relationship.
