Sameer came out to his Muslim family four years ago. They fully accept him and the fact that he is gay. They understand and accept that he was born that way.

This interview was broadcast by the BBC on 30th July 2019, the same day that Dr Nazim Mahmood (Naz) passed away five years before. Naz sadly took his own life two days after being confronted about his sexuality by his deeply religious parents.

We need more proud parents who are willing to come out to their community and tell the world how proud they are of their LGBTQI+ children.
