At Knockdhu, we are steadfast in keeping the true traditions of whisky making alive — crafting whisky how it should be made: copper pot stills, wooden washbacks, old-school dunnage warehouses, and 16,758 daily steps. The anCnoc way. Our 16 Year Old is matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Rich, sweet, and just damn indulgent. It opens with toffee apples and a warm touch of spiced vanilla, followed by a wave of creamy vanilla and golden honey. Seriously tasty.
THE ANCNOC WAY: Whisky crafted by humans, not machines. At anCnoc, we stay steadfast in keeping the true tradition of whisky making alive. Eight people, three dogs, and a century old process – no shortcuts, no fancy tech. The anCnoc way.
TASTING NOTES: Our 16 Year Old kicks off with a burst of fresh apple—crisp and juicy. Spiced vanilla rolls in next, warm and creamy and this layers with caramel—rich, and unapologetically indulgent. It’s sweet and seriously tasty.
NOSE: Rich toffee apple comes in first – deep, sweet, and indulgent. Orange citrus follows, cutting through with a burst of freshness. Then honey wraps it all up – golden, mellow, and as smooth as it gets.
MATURATION: Matured for sixteen years in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Sweet and fruity with a long lasting finish. Just great whisky.
CRAFTED AT KNOCKDHU DISTILLERY: Since 1894 we have crafted our whisky at Knockdhu Distillery, situated in the village of Knock in Aberdeenshire. Gaelic for the “hill”, anCnoc takes its name from Knock Hill which overlooks our distillery home.
