MangoMango

Why do we use wood from the mango tree?

Mango wood items offer some remarkable benefits

MULTIPLE USES: Mango wood is often a by-product of the mango fruit harvest. Once the trees no longer bear fruit, they are cut down and the wood is used. This means that both fruits and the wood of the tree are used. Durability and stability: Despite its lightness, mango wood is very stable and durable. It has a high density, which makes it resistant to wear and damage. Unique aesthetics: Mango wood has a special grain and colour scheme that ranges from light brown to dark gold. This unique look makes it an attractive choice for furniture and decorative items.EASY CARE: Mango wood is relatively easy to clean. It is recommended to clean it with a damp cloth and occasionally treat it with special care products such as wax or oil to seal the surface and preserve colour fastness.

NailNail

We use stainless steel nails for our Sadhu board, why not copper?

When it comes to skin contact, stainless steel offers some specific benefits

Skin compatibility: Stainless steel is hypoallergenic and rarely causes skin irritation. Other metals can cause skin reactions in some people. Hygiene: Stainless steel has a very smooth surface that makes it difficult to settle germs and is easy to clean. Corrosion resistance: Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and retains its properties even with frequent contact with moisture and sweat. Copper, for example, can oxidise and develop a greenish patina. Durability: Stainless steel is extremely durable and resistant to wear and tear. Other metals are softer and can scratch or dent more easily. Easy care: Stainless steel requires little maintenance and no special detergents. It remains smooth and shiny even after frequent cleaning.

Where is the origin of the Sadhu Board?

The Sadhu Board, also known as the nail board or “bed of nails”, has a long history dating back over 2,000 years. Originally from India, it was used by yogis and sadhus, the holy men of India. These ascetics used the nail board to test their physical and mental endurance and achieve spiritual enlightenment.

The Sadhu board consists of a platform with sharp nails that you stand on. These nails stimulate different areas of the feet, similar to acupressure. The application is said to activate energy pathways, promote blood circulation and stimulate the release of endorphins, which contributes to pain relief and relaxation.
