Playful toddlers (1 year & 5 months young) Akhisah (with cleft lip) and her conjoined twin Ayeesah Marcaida Yusoph unmindful of the interest of the people around them at the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines, on May 3, 2024. Saudi Ambassador to the Philippines Hisham bin Sultan Al-Qahtani hosted a reception for the twins and the Kingdom’s medical and humanitarian team who will fly them to Saudi Arabia for their delicate medical procedure to separate them. The twins share a common lungs. Saudi monarch His Majesty King Salman bin Abul Aziz Al-Saud has issued a Royal Decree for their operation in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. The Kingdom’s Islamic charities will provide the funds for the medical procedure. Saudi Arabia has extensive experience in separating conjoined twins, having done it more 100 times over 30 years through a team of a battery of medical professionals who are in various specializations led by pediatric surgeon Dr. Abdullah Rabeeah. On March 20, 2004, Dr. Rabeeah successfully separated Filipino conjoined twins Princess Ann and Princess Mae Manzo of Mandaue City, Cebu, in the Visayas. Let us offer and send prayers for twins Akhisah and Ayeesah for their successful operation. The mother, 18 years old Hashima Marcaida Yusoph and her twins are scheduled to leave for the Saudi capital on Sunday, May 5. Good luck and God bless. ConjoinedTwinsAkhisha&Ayeesah
