He grew up in a conservative and religious family at a time when it was illegal to have same sex relations in Texas. Sergeant Michael Crumrine later married a woman and had a daughter. But during a custody battle she threatened to ‘out him’ publicly, which she did. After many challenges of self discovery Sergeant Michael Crumrine is now proudly gay and says he’s a better man because he’s openly gay saying “It’s part of the diversity that makes this world a phenomenal place and it’s something that should be celebrated, not shunned”
