For many years John had suffered from crippling drug addictions. Finally fed up with him, his fiancée and prospective step children threw his belongings out on their lawn. John was living out of dumpsters, and slept in alleys.

He’d given up hope.

When John made one last try (after several failures in various programs) to get well, he finally finished a well-respected program at SWAFIS in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was clean and sober, but still scared and unhappy. Lynn was speaking at a recovery fellowship meeting on a new approach to the 12-step recovery program. John asked Lynn to take him through it and together with another unhappy SWAFIS graduate, Craig, they took the Five Gates Training.

They both were electric in their newly found solid recovery and interviewed on Lynn’s TV show “Joyful Recovery” six months later. John reunited with his fiancée, married her and adopted their 2 children, and he regained his professional license as a master A/C mechanic-contractor, and today, 4 years later, has become the owner of a very successful business, and has never used again.
