Training Description:
Based on emerging reports and data, COVID-19 seems to be posing a greater threat to men’s health. This webinar will be in the form of a panel discussion where we will explore the impact of COVID-19 on men’s health. Panelists will present on why men are at a higher risk and provide guidance on what men should be doing to protect themselves from this disease. Presentations will be followed by participant Q&A.

Dr. Sal’s Bio:
Dr. Giorgianni is the principal Founding Partner of Griffon Consulting Group, Inc. GCGI provides services in health and regulatory policy, medication therapy management, clinical pharmacist practice, as well as voluntary health and pharmaceutical industry consulting. He is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed and general public publications in men’s health, health policy, and pharmacotherapy. He is an advocate for men’s health and a recognized expert in men’s health. He is one of the Founders and Chair-Emeritus of the American Public Health Association’s Men’s Health caucus and currently is Senior Science Adviser and spokesperson for the Men’s Health Network in Washington D.C. He holds Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy degrees from Columbia University in the City Of New York. He has held faculty appointments at Columbia University and as founding faculty and executive administrative faculty at Belmont University Colleges of Pharmacy.

Mark Hedstrom’s Bio:
Mark Hedstrom is the Executive Director in the U.S. for the Movember Foundation, the global charity focused on men’s health, funding over 1,250 innovative projects across 21 countries. To date, the charity has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for men’s health programs supporting three critical areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. Mark is responsible for the U.S. strategy, management, and operations of the global men’s health foundation. In this role, he oversees community and corporate engagement, partnerships, marketing, public and government relations, finance, operations, and human resources. He was previously the Global Director, Programs Commercialization for Movember from 2017 through 2018. Before joining Movember, Mark held various positions, serving as the Manager of Global Strategy and Planning at Oakley, a global consumer packaged goods company, as the Chief Financial Officer at The Arbor Collective, a board sports and apparel company, and as a Director of Operations and Finance at The Advisory Board Company, a global technology and consulting company. Mark holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago. He grew up outside of Boston but now lives in LA. He is the third (out of three) most important humans in his family and just ahead of the two dogs, David Ortiz and LeBron James.
