This video briefly introduces two controversies in abnormal psychology; namely, the appropriateness of Gender Dysphoria as a diagnostic label (clinical utility versus stigmatization of trans* people), and the etiology of Dissociative Identity Disorder (sociocognitive versus posttraumatic theories). These are tied to some summary ideas about research in psychopathology.
