Cultural commentators on both the left and the right have termed the last few years the “transgender moment.” Though I do not think that needs much in the way of an explanation, the issue of transgenderism is now impacting Christian families and ministries in the areas of education, discipleship, outreach, and even evangelism. Given that development, how can we love our neighbors well while still speaking the truth on this important topic? Well, let’s start with a story.

Heather Skriba is a follower of Jesus; and, in this conversation, she shares about her childhood, gender dysphoria, transition, her experiences with the church, and the beautiful truth that changed her life.

Key Takeaways:

-How her childhood impacted her view of God.
-Her experiences at college, including conversations with Christians and members of the LGBTQ community.
-Heather’s experience with gender dysphoria and why she decided to transition.
-How a community of believers in Michigan impacted her view of God and self, and the truth that changed her life.
-Her thoughts on how Christian parents, churches and other ministries should respond to individuals experiencing gender dysphoria and the transgender moment more broadly.
