Love is in the air again. It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating Christmas and the New Year. Now it’s February, and shops have come to offer their wares for that “special someone” you’ve been wooing or for your Mom and Dad or for that husband you adore so much.
Oh, how I have always loved the month of February… The red hearts, the chocolates, the flowers, and the romantic movies that seem to fill every cinema in town… Don’t you just want to fall in love? Or at least try to be cheerful and giving this “season of LOVE?”
You need not go broke though. Who said you have to buy her expensive jewelry this February 14? Or for the ladies, who said you need to buy your man that branded cologne?
…What matters most in this day and age is “True Love” in its purest form, but a gift or two won’t hurt. So here are sure-fire, mind-blowing cheap gift ideas to kick-off your romantic rendezvous this 14th of February.
Flowers. Well, as far as I’m concerned this is one bit of advice I’m giving the gentlemen out there – unless the ladies want to give a bouquet to their partners, as a joke. All women are suckers for flowers, especially the ones that spell and smell “L-O-V-E.” So choose wisely. If you don’t know what her favorite is, play it safe by buying her tulips or roses.
Chocolates. Now that’s another cheap gift idea I’d like our men to know works best. If you gave your lady-love the calorie-free ones, it’ll make her feel that you care for her well being. Chocolates too, if I’m not mistaken, are known to be an aphrodisiac, so might as well share that chocolate bar with her, my brave man…
Cologne. Both sexes can play this game, but this is mostly advice for the ladies. Men can never get enough macho-smelling colognes. Just make sure you don’t give him the same kind every year. Your man might think you didn’t put that much effort in looking for the perfect scent for him.
Handkerchief. This for all the ladies out there whose man is a “neat-freak” or those whose partners seem to sweat too much even inside air-conditioned establishments. This is one cheap gift idea you should try. Buy your man a set of inexpensive yet durable hankies that he can take and use anytime, anywhere. I’m sure he’ll love it.
These are but a few of the many cheap gift ideas that gift shops, novelty shops, and even online this season of amore. So buy wisely and enjoy whatever it is that this month has prepared for you and your loved one. Happy Valentine’s Day!
