There was a time, now barely remembered, when you lived without cigarettes. You did not need, at anytime of day – or night – to interrupt what you were doing to go light a cigarette. There was a time when that nasty taste in the back of your throat, that annoying cough every morning that gets little worse each week, were nothing more than occasional annoyances. But you’ve not quit smoking. You’ve kept at it, and despite your desire to quit smoking now, you’ve not managed it. Yet. Do you even remember your life before cigarettes?

A clear, defined and sharp sense of taste is one of the first things to go – after your stamina, of course – when you start smoking cigarettes. Most of the sense of taste is actually that of smell, and cigarettes destroy your sense of smell, most of your taste goes with it as well. You are left with very basic tastes, and even that is in jeopardy as the cigarette smoke transits through your mouth to your lungs. If you were to quit smoking now, you would regain a great part of your sense of taste, and with it the enjoyment of food.

Did you ever notice that your hands and feet get cold when you smoke, or just after? This is because smoking cigarettes constricts the capillaries in your extremities, not letting blood flow as it should. For men, this should be an added incentive to stop smoking now: not smoking cigarettes greatly increases the odds of not having to deal with impotence or erectile dysfunction

If you quit smoking now, you will also regain two very important things: money and freedom. The money you have spent on cigarettes, unfortunately, is gone forever, but you having quit smoking now mean no more money from you to the death merchants, and that’s something to look forward to! But money is but one aspect of it. Do you enjoy freedom? Or do you enjoy being led around by the nose by cigarette companies and their noxious products? If you quit smoking now, then YOU are in charge of your destiny. You are no longer an addict, one who has lost control.

You sense of taste, and smell are but two of the innumerable advantages to quit smoking now. Your freedom, and the enjoyment of your labours through money, is two additional aspects of it. Quit smoking now and rediscover what you have been missing; life without cigarettes, far from being dull, is fuller and more exciting than you could have imagined.
