DCell lamp is a manifestation of our current primordial digital age. Using the metaphor of a cell or an embryo to define the beginning of digital cultures, organic patterns are projected onto the exterior surfaces of the lamp from within.
An invasion by the digital world into the domestic spaces of human society, it announces that the true digital age is coming. Whilst we live in the digital age now, with its conveniences directly affecting our lives and although this is not the first time we encounter new technologies, many people are still afraid.

The lights here are designed to lighten our fears of technology and demolish the anxiety of techno-surprise. A glimmering light is beating. The shadow from the brilliant core looks as if it is a wrapped embryo. It suggests a very human vessel to incubate hope to face the complex world.

When the lamp is on, a shadow will project on the surface. The lamp base and lampshade are simply assembled units. The interior projector is a customizable element, less than ten cubic centimeters in volume. Designed to be simple to manufacture and self-customize by customers with any 3D printer or material. Customers can print more than one for differing effects and impacts.
