BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR

Havana Cuba. 1986. Graduated from the University of Arts, Havana, Cuba on Media Arts and from the EICTV (International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños) on Documentary Direction. He also studied at the Mel Oppenheim Film School in Montreal, Canada and at the Cinema Department at HEAD Genève, Switzerland. Sainz has worked as director, editor and producer in documentary films in Cuba, Canada, Switzerland and Spain and had collaborated with visual art projects like Inventario at the Ludwig Foundation and online Project Docuselfie. His short documentary films have been selected and awarded in several international film festivals like Havana Film Festival, Fribourg in Switzerland, FICUNAM in Mexico and FICU in Uruguay. Sainz teaches documentary cinema at the EICTV in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. He lives and works as an independent filmmaker between Spain and Havana.
