Andy Warhol was a shy gay man from an immigrant family who followed his very own path with his art, which remains as relevant as ever today. Inspired by this, young artists from the intersectional project “iJuLa – intersektionale JugendLabore im Veedel” which is part of the association “ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V.” created short videos on the topics of coming out, safer spaces, and gender. In interviews they share their views and personal experiences and offer insights into their own artistic work.
The project has been creates together with “ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V. (RRCGN)”, the “Kommunales Integrationszentrum im Amt für Integration und Vielfalt” and the “Museumsdienst Köln.” iJuLa is a RRCGN project and supported by „Demokratie leben!“ of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth
