Pure Poison is the newest Dior’s poison; it charms you, and fills you with bold strength. The name imitates the fragrance. Pure Poison was shaped by three perfumers, three ‘noses’, three souls, so this communal product delights with complex composition and unbelievable harmony. At the beginning of the fragrance you are allured by fresh notes of bergamot and jasmine, then white flowers come in, erotic and strong, while sandalwood and amber in the base give it depth. Pure Poison was made back in 2004. The creators are Carlos Benaim, Dominique Ropion and Olivier Polge. Pure Poison incarnates seduction in its purest state by exploring its duality and irresistible alchemy. Dior’s fashion background included working for or alongside other well-known fashion (and perfume) legends of the mid-twentieth century. He arrived the fashion business working for Robert Piguet, and later worked at Lucien Lelong with another up-and-coming designer, Pierre Balmain. Dior presented the “New Look” in 1947. It characterised a radical departure from the simple, fabric-conserving styles of World War II and was hugely influential in women’s fashion, as well as helping to re-establish Paris as a fashion capital of the world. The house of Dior issued fragrances to match its new fashions, introduction company Parfums Dior and its first perfume in 1947: Miss Dior, named for the designer’s sister Catherine.
