CONTEXT
This week we cross the half-way point in the book of Daniel where the book takes a turn. Where the first half of Daniel detailed events of Daniel’s life, from chapter 7 thru chapter 12 the book details several visions given to Daniel.

Chapter 7 is a fascinating vision of four beasts representing four kings and their kingdoms. Chapter 7 corresponds to chapter 2 and the dream given to Nebuchadnezzar of the statue, and points toward the coming of Jesus also detailed in Matthew 24 and Revelation 21. Daniel’s visions are a genre of Scripture known as Hebrew apocalyptic which involves intense imagery of strange creatures and involves the revelation or appearing of Christ at the end of the age.
