My serious fitness journey started with a phone call from a TV station wanting to interview me. I had raised money for veterinary expenses for dogs injured by the 2014 Vilonia tornado. My first thought was, “I’m in terrible shape! I can’t possibly go on TV!” Terribly vain and self-absorbed, but 100% true!

When I posted about my 10 pound weight loss with the Cabbage Soup Diet on Facebook, a friend asked me what I was planning to do to continue my journey. After all, I couldn’t live on cabbage soup forever!

She recommended Focus T25.

What is Focus T25?

Focus T25 was designed by celebrity fitness trainer, Shaun T. It’s a fast-paced, very intense, high-impact program. It has ten 25-minute workouts, a workout calendar, nutrition guide, and a 5-day fast track meal plan.

The base kit has two 5-week tracks, Alpha and Beta. A third optional track, Gamma, is available in the deluxe package, or as a separate add-on later.

My Personal Experience

I’ll be perfectly honest, this workout was a challenge for me. I’m not a huge fan of intense cardio activity and prefer lifting to cardio any day of the week. There were days I just didn’t want to get up and “push play”. And I lost count of the times I called Shaun T names, especially when he went on about the “old” guy on the team (if he can do it, you can do it). I was a decade older than him!

The calendar has one workout a day for four days, then two workouts on day five. To me, this defeats the whole 25 minutes a day sales feature. So I opted to work out for six days instead of only five so that I could still get all of the workouts in.

I followed Tanya the moderator A LOT in the beginning. By the end of the 10 weeks, I had lost 8 1/2 pounds and 5 inches.

Pros

The only piece of equipment used in this workout is a resistance band, and it’s included. You work out in the privacy of your own home, on your schedule. There is a modifier to follow if the movements are too strenuous. The 5-day fast track is incredibly helpful and became my “base” meal plan for the 10 weeks.

Cons

Allow yourself at least 30 minutes. While the workout is 25 minutes, there is a cool down at the end. You may need to work out 6 days a week instead of 5. If you don’t like cardio, you may not like this program. Again, it’s a very intense workout and may be too much for some people.

Would I Recommend It?

Yes! It’s challenging, but worth it. If you follow the nutrition guide and do the work, you will get results. Focus T25 isn’t for everybody, but even though I’m not a cardio fan, I’m a fan of this program. I got good results, and isn’t that what counts?
