Storyteller Elise Robertson embarks on a journey of discovery about Rachel Carson, the iconic environmentalist, who was born 12 miles from her in Pittsburgh, PA, 60 years earlier. Her own demons quickly hijack the story, interweaving her own coming-of-age with Rachel’s, as they struggle with their identities as artists, mothers, and truth-tellers. Staged entirely within zoom, the show uses virtual backgrounds, multiple windows, and other “zoomcraft” magic, pushing the boundaries of this new medium. Alternately sweeping and intimate, funny and moving, Elise plays multiple characters in myriad settings without ever leaving her office chair.
