ABOUT THE EVENT
Intersections of an Afro-Latinx Queer Bronxie
From short personal stories and performative pieces, writer Charles Rice-Gonzalez offers a remix of his work to chart his path from a poor working class Bronx kid from the Soundview Projects to being a queer activist, to becoming a writer and arts leader. Works will include “Black Solidarity Day” (about his bi-cultural upbringing [African American and Puerto Rican]), “Always and Forever, Love Alex” (a story about a first kiss) and Latin Night (about gay nights at Latin Clubs written in response to the Pulse Tragedy).
