In the heart of the south, just north of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, you will find Beverly Hills of the South-none other than Buckhead. Atlanta residents will be the first to tell you that the shopping of Buckhead rivals that of Rodeo Drive; the homes in the area are as palatial as any you might find in the 90210 zip code; and the dining is as delectable and fine as meals you might enjoy in restaurants with celebrity chefs like Gordon Ramsey or Giacomino Drago.

Single family homes in Buckhead offer residents pristine manicured lawns with southern landscaping featuring magnolia trees, dogwood trees, and azalea bushes. In addition to the beautiful homes of the area, those seeking high rise living are not disappointed. Park Place, Sovereign, Mansion on Peachtree, Realm, The Ritz Carlton and the Buckhead Grand are some of the over 50+ deluxe high rise condominiums that Atlantans call home.

Not only does Buckhead have the trappings to challenge the glitter and shine of Beverly Hills, but Buckhead is also home to many noted celebrities. Celebrity sightings are quite normal in the area with the likes of Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, Nancy Grace, Tyler Perry, and Justin Bieber calling Buckhead home. Consider that Atlanta is also home to the NFL Falcons, NBA Hawks, and NHL Thrashers and you will find talented athletes shopping in Phipps Plaza right alongside residents.

Many of Atlanta’s most noted political figures call Buckhead home, including Georgia’s Governor! The Governor’s mansion is located in the heart of Buckhead on West Paces Ferry Road and is open for public tours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Foreign presence is not missing from Buckhead either with the Australian, French, Brazil, Japan, and Greek consulates all calling the area home.

Another perk about living in this area is the closet proximity to GA-400 and 85. You can get anywhere in Atlanta by accessing one of these roads. With traffic being so challenging in Atlanta, it is important to have a way to get to the places you want to go, quickly.

There is truly no denying it-Buckhead is the Beverly Hills of the South, but with a bit something extra. Buckhead offers southern charm that will woo residents and visitors alike. This area is one of the last to feel the negative effect of a down economy and the first to come out of it when it does.
